Hybrid Role:
This is a hybrid position; you will be required to work at the WestJet Campus in Calgary approximately 2-3 days / week.
Candidates need to be located within Calgary Metropolitan Region.

WestJet is hiring for a Coordinator- Accounts Payable for the WestJet Group. This position will report to the Manager, Accounts Payable.

Responsible for the invoicing of designated business units of the WestJet Group, the Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for the end to end accounts payable cycle. Strictly guided by internal controls, high standards are applied to safeguard all outgoing funds to ensure accuracy of records, data integrity, and required documentations are met. The Accounts Payable Coordinator is a strong team player that is goal driven to contributes to individual, team and company success.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify accuracy of submitted invoices
  • Process high volumes of invoices in a timely manner
  • Manage and resolve invoice exceptions or queries with suppliers and/or internal business partners
  • Perform qualitative audit in review of AP postings
  • Review and action AP aging, credit balances, refunds, and adjustments, and apply appropriate corrections
  • Manage high volumes of emails and maintain accurate records
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Builds effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Processes payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Recommends process improvements to gain efficiencies and reduce processing risk
  • Be an active participant in related duties or ad-hoc projects as assigned (i.e. payment run)

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years full cycle Accounts Payable experience required
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and Canadian /Provincial Taxes
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge and skills (O365, excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative skills to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
  • First rate accuracy and attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical abilities
