Mutual Fund Analyst

What is the opportunity?


RBC Global Asset Management ("RBC GAM") is a North American-based asset manager with global scope and industry-leading investment management capabilities.

The RBC GAM group of companies, including Phillips, Hager & North, manage approximately CAD $250 billion (US $250B, £156B or €182B) in assets worldwide on behalf of individual, high net worth and institutional investors through mutual funds, pooled funds, hedge funds, segregated accounts and specialty investment strategies such as Liability Driven Investing and Cash Management.


What will you do?

  • Monitor funds daily to ensure that cash, security, and unit positions are reflected correctly. This involves completion of daily cash and bank reconciliations, and investigation and resolution of discrepancies with various parties
  • Review and prepare monthly and quarterly reports to key stakeholders
  • Assist in preparation and reviewing semiannual and yearend financial statements including audit support, research and resolution of discrepancies
  • Other related duties assigned.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Successful completion of a related postsecondary degree or diploma
  • Experience in the Mutual Fund/Investment industry along with 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • High attention to detail accuracy
  • Good judgment and problem solving skills
  • Good communication, organization, and time management skills

Nice to Have

  • Completion of an industry related course (IFIC Mutual Funds Course or CSC) would be considered an asset.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required
  • Intermediate to advanced PC literacy, specifically MS Excel and Eagle Investment
  • Practical knowledge of financial products, Mutual fund operations
