The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.

Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.

Position summary

As the Projects/Project Manager for the RI-IT Division, you will be part of a team interfacing with all areas business division of the RI-MUHC, and as such you will manage a portfolio of IT projects in collaboration to several stakeholders and managers with a delivery focused mindset.

You will also be involved into various types of projects and several transformational initiatives.

General Duties

  • Lead and plan IT portfolio/projects/programs including suppliers' management & implementation approach.
  • Liaise with RI-MUHC management level for reporting.
  • Maintain IT Portfolio budgets and forecasts in line with organization objectives.
  • Coordinate all teams required, and IT technical specialists.
  • Ensure that longterm support models are established with key stakeholders and processes implemented by the relevant teams.
  • Ensure resources planning for IT capacity (IT Business analyst, Developers, external...) during projects life cycle including resource assignment, and training as necessary.
  • Provide data quality including reporting to key stakeholders.
  • Enforce best practices, knowledge transfer and lessons learned within project management community.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business, or applicable discipline,
  • Minimum of 5 7 years of experience working in Information Technology,
  • At least of 34 years as senior IT project manager. (Must be recent),
  • Experience with leadership position in IT is a plus,
  • Hands on experience with Digital Operating System, and/or ERP environment,
  • Demonstrated experience with Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SharePoint, MS Project or Smartsheet,
  • PMP certification or equivalent,
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is an asset.

Full-time (temporary)

Pay Scale:
Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift:
from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays

Work Site:
Glen site/Downtown Montreal
