Auto Logistics Providers Canada is looking to hire Full Time Vehicle Loaders for our Alliston ON location on the Honda property. This position will be to load the new vehicles onto the trains for transport.

We load Vehicles Monday-Saturday with either a 6am or 9am start time - your schedule will vary and you must be flexible with both shifts and up to 12 hour shifts depending on the needs for the day. We currently rotate start times and shifts for all rail loaders. You also need to be able to drive a manual transmission/stick shift vehicle.

General Description

Load vehicles on rail cars and secure vehicles in the rail cars or ensure vehicles are parking in the proper spots.

Essential Duties

Drive customer vehicles onto rail cars from staging lines in a safe and efficient mannerSecure customer vehicles to rail cars by using chains or chocks as required by manufacturerSet-up rail car bridge platesRaise and lower rail car decksOpen/Close rail car doorsOperate loading rampsCheck vehicles for damageDrive vehicles to/from staging areasVarious duties as assigned or required to help the facility function in a team environmentAdhere to all ALPC and AAR safety standardsTrain new employees and temporary workersAbility to react to change and handle other essential tasks as assigned

Working Conditions:

Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.Work with a team of other rail associatesWork in tight spaces on railcars

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 diplomaValid driver's license with clean driving record.Able to follow directions, both written and verbalAble to drive both standard and automatic automobilesAble to adhere to strict quality standards without varianceGood visual abilityKnowledge of the use of hand tools (i.e., wrenches, screw drivers, ratchets, etc.)Ability to read and understand MSDSMust have a good sense of balanceAble to work at a height approximately 15 feet above the groundAble to lift up to 50 pounds over headAble to push, pull, or carry up to 85 poundsAble to pass Safe Driving, Rail and Buck Ramp quizzes with 80% accuracy or betterAble to stand, walk, and work outdoors in all weather conditions
