We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Loader to join our team at Auto Logistics Providers Canada. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for loading vehicles onto rail cars and ensuring their safe transportation.
Key Responsibilities- Loading and Securing Vehicles: Safely load vehicles onto rail cars, secure them with chains or chocks as required, and ensure they are properly positioned.
- Operational Tasks: Set up rail car bridge plates, raise and lower rail car decks, open and close rail car doors, operate loading ramps, and check vehicles for damage.
- Facility Operations: Drive vehicles to and from staging areas, perform various duties as assigned, and adhere to all safety standards.
- Team Collaboration: Work with a team of rail associates, train new employees, and temporary workers, and be able to react to change and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Work with a team of other rail associates.
- Work in tight spaces on railcars.
- Grade 12 diploma.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Able to follow directions, both written and verbal.
- Able to drive both standard and automatic automobiles.
- Able to adhere to strict quality standards without variance.
- Good visual ability.
- Knowledge of the use of hand tools (i.e., wrenches, screwdrivers, ratchets, etc.).
- Ability to read and understand MSDS.
- Must have a good sense of balance.
- Able to work at a height approximately 15 feet above the ground.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds over head.
- Able to push, pull, or carry up to 85 pounds.
- Able to pass Safe Driving, Rail, and Buck Ramp quizzes with 80% accuracy or better.
- Able to stand, walk, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
