Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Loader to join our team at Auto Logistics Providers Canada. As a Vehicle Loader, you will be responsible for loading vehicles onto rail cars and ensuring they are securely fastened.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive customer vehicles onto rail cars from staging lines in a safe and efficient manner
  • Secure customer vehicles to rail cars by using chains or chocks as required by manufacturer
  • Set-up rail car bridge plates
  • Raise and lower rail car decks
  • Open/Close rail car doors
  • Operate loading ramps
  • Check vehicles for damage
  • Drive vehicles to/from staging areas
  • Perform various duties as assigned or required to help the facility function in a team environment
  • Adhere to all ALPC and AAR safety standards
  • Train new employees and temporary workers
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Work with a team of other rail associates
  • Work in tight spaces on railcars
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Able to follow directions, both written and verbal
  • Able to drive both standard and automatic automobiles
  • Able to adhere to strict quality standards without variance
  • Good visual ability
  • Knowledge of the use of hand tools (i.e., wrenches, screw drivers, ratchets, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand MSDS
  • Must have a good sense of balance
  • Able to work at a height approximately 15 feet above the ground
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds over head
  • Able to push, pull, or carry up to 85 pounds
  • Able to pass Safe Driving, Rail and Buck Ramp quizzes with 80% accuracy or better
  • Able to stand, walk, and work outdoors in all weather conditions
