Job Summary:
Basic Function

Reporting to the Director, Strategy, the Strategy and Planning Specialist will:

  • Coordinate the production and publishing of various meeting material and reports for the various stakeholders the Strategy and Planning team works with, such as Corporate and Internal Communications, Member Relations, etc.
  • Work in a dynamic environment with a focus on being agile and flexible to the growing and changing needs of stakeholders across the organization; and
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships across Central 1

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the Strategy and Planning team with research, data and information collection and preparation of presentations, reports and working sessions with executives and senior leaders, including the environmental scan, market and competitive analysis
  • Support the strategic planning process, helping to coordinate meetings and the preparation and distribution of pre and post meeting materials
  • Draft content and facilitate approvals of strategy material for website publishing


Demonstrated ability to communicate strategy and planning content and propose and prepare ways to present information in digestible formats for various audiences internally and externally, including the presentation of dashboards, use of infographics, etc.


  • Work collaboratively with all levels across Central
  • Be adaptable, flexible and willing to pivot to meet the everchanging needs of the organization

What you'll have:

  • 3+ years of related experience in a largescale administrative and business environment
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work across various teams and departments
  • Diploma in business administration, communications, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong organizational, time management, oral and wirtting communication, and intrapersonal skills with attention to detail
  • Sound working knowledge and expertise in the use of computers and relevant software, including Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive and Teams.
  • Experience writing and managing content for digital channels
  • Good analytical, research and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to deal with a variety of situations with diplomacy and confidentiality
  • Ability to create value in the short term with an understanding of impact to longer term developments, impacting both internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous exposure to the credit union system would be an asset
