JOB PURPOSE:


Boyle Street Community Services is looking for an Internal Communications Coordinator to support the Communications Team with internal newsletters, change management, Support Services (HR) initiatives, and other communications duties as needed.

This is a temporary full-time position with the possibility of extension.

This role will be focused on writing and developing stories for internal and external audiences with newsletters, blogs, social media, and other tactics.

This position will also support the ongoing, day-to-day work between Communications and Support Services teams.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Source and write organizational stories for various platforms
  • Interviewing for and writing blog content about programs and services.
  • Developing and creating content for our newsletter.
  • May write media releases, advisories, statements, etc., as required.
  • Assist in internal communication endeavors.
  • Other duties as required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-Secondary degree in English, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
  • 35 years' experience in writing for multiple audiences
  • 12 years' experience in a communications role

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Excellent writing skills
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills to manage diverse responsibilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build strong, trusting relationships with all levels within the organization.
  • Skill with a range of communication tools.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • A strong commitment to upholding the guiding philosophies, value and beliefs of BSCS
  • Enhanced Security Clearance conducted by Edmonton Police Service and Child Intervention Check
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
