Come and join the team at IDS (formerly North Shore ConneXions Society) IDS is a mid-sized, non-profit organization that provides a variety of residential, community and employment services supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
We see a community where all people with disabilities have equal opportunities to lead active, fulfilling lives and are recognized as contributing members of the community.
This role will address the recruitment needs of the Society and is responsible for delivering a full range of recruitment and onboarding services to the organization.
The Recruitment Specialist works as part of the Human Resources team to support the mission, strategic plan, and operations of IDS by ensuring staffing needs are met in all programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, and orientate new staff and volunteers to IDS and facilitate placement in appropriate positions
- Generate, circulate and monitor all job postings
- Ensure that all new employees and volunteers meet the required criteria for employment
- Screen and interview job applicants using recruitment best practices
- Complete reference and background checks and verify credentials
- Provide a society orientation to all new IDS employees
- Maintain open and positive communication with Management to stay current with staffing needs
- Track and analyze recruitment metrics
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement of recruitment systems and processes
- Provide backup support to the Reception Desk as needed
- Perform other related duties as required
Education, Training and Experience
- Experience in Human Resources or a related field with relevant experience
- Minimum of two years of fullcycle recruitment experience
- Recruitment experience in a nonprofit, unionized environment is preferred
- Demonstrated and indepth working knowledge of recruitment best practices, applicable laws, regulations, and standards
- Excellent oral, written, facilitation, networking, and interpersonal communication skills
- Welldeveloped planning, organizing, and administrative skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish a high level of trust and credibility
- Highly anticipative and supportive of team needs with the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Proficient computer skills including a demonstrated familiarity with databases and MS Office suite
Pre-Requisites:
- Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector)
- Medical Fit to Work form
- Tuberculosis Screening
- First aid certificate
- Reliable vehicle, valid Class 5 BC Driver's License, and suitable driver's abstract
- Fully vaccinated for COVID 19 (Government Health requirement)
- Satisfactory Reference Checks
Hours of Work:37.5 working from Head Office
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm with flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required
