Why this role is important?

Reporting to the VP Strategic Pharma Partnerships & GM Specialty Health Network, you will support and build relationships with pharmaceutical partners with the intent of attaining new business. The Director, Business Development must be able to develop, plan and coordinate strategic, persuasive approaches and presentations that will convince manufacturers to do business with us and achieve business results. Additionally, you will foster a consultative relationship with existing clients and expand the scope of our services accordingly.

This role is based at the Specialty Health Network Office located in Mississauga.

What you will do:
  1. Develop and build strategic partnerships with key pharmaceutical clients to win new Specialty Business for Specialty Health Network and achieve stated business results
  2. Develop innovative and strategic proposals based on client opportunities
  3. Lead and conduct detailed responses to Request for Information (RFIs) and Request For Proposals (RFPs)
  4. Build, prepare and present enterprise credential presentations for new opportunities, as well as in response to RFIs and RFPs
  5. Leverage the Shoppers Drug Mart Network to support a strategy towards developing new business, growing market presence, and BD opportunities
  6. Assist in the development and execution of the BD Strategic Plan
  7. Conduct complex business analyses, build financial models and define analytical structures
  8. Develop standardized reports for BD tracking and measurement
  9. Consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new products, services, and distribution channels
  10. Conduct external research/data gathering and analysis
  11. Support BD Cross functional team meetings and other internal stakeholder initiatives
  12. Attend industry functions designed to increase relationships, grow the reputation of the enterprise as well as building awareness of the latest trends
  13. Assist with negotiating statements of work, drafting service agreements, terms, and conditions, as well as contracts with new and existing clients
  14. Drive Top Line financial growth for the enterprise and impact profitability through the attainment of new business objectives
  15. Qualify new opportunities by contacting new and existing clients to uncover needs; develop and present solutions
What you will need:

University degree with a concentration in Health Sciences, Engineering or Business, preferred

Minimum 5 years' progressive sales/marketing experience with pharmaceutical and specialty experience in Canada

Experience with patient support programs

Excellent presentation, listening and consulting skills are essential

Strong analytical and financial modelling skills

Demonstrated success with project management

Skilled knowledge of Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

Flexibility to travel (approximately 20%>)

Demonstrated success in working effectively and collaboratively within a team environment

Ability to work within a dynamic rapidly growing and evolving environment

Bilingualism (English, French) would be an asset
