Job Summary
As part of this position, you will be pivotal in expanding McKesson Specialty Pharmaceutical Services through identifying and executing market penetration strategies, collaborating with key organizations, and enhancing existing partnerships. In addition to forging new partnerships, this role plays a crucial part in fortifying current collaborations and providing additional assistance through McKesson's comprehensive range of services.
Section A - Specific Responsibilities
- Align with the organization's strategic direction to support long-term goals and overall department objectives by implementing short-, mid-, and long-term strategies in conjunction with the Senior Director.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape to nurture and expand existing business partnerships by offering tailored solutions to each client.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with key decision-makers within the client community.
- Meet with potential clients formally and present proposals and pitches to secure new opportunities and meet set objectives.
- Generate strategic insights and actionable recommendations; Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improved performance at both national and regional levels.
- Work alongside key business units to establish strategic performance metrics, create sales performance reports and dashboards, and advanced analytics for designated services.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to set business rules each quarter and execute quarterly business reviews.
- Provide regular updates on sales activity and operational results to senior management promptly.
- Keep all staff informed on ongoing sales initiatives to ensure a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and actively seek feedback to ensure strategic alignment within the business.
- Gather competitive intelligence within the business ecosystem, including client groups, industry competitors, and governmental bodies.
- Offer proactive solutions to partners amidst evolving landscapes.
- Possess a thorough understanding of the business processes to suggest innovative solutions that enhance the physician and patient experience.
- Prepare presentations for internal and external use.
- Represent the company at industry events and exhibitions in a competent and professional manner.
- Collaborate effectively throughout the organization to enhance the overall service offering of McKesson.
- Adhere strictly to McKesson's corporate standards and policies, including ethical guidelines, health, and safety protocols.
- Follow company procedures for submitting expenses.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
- Minimum of seven (7) years in roles involving direct sales, marketing, or patient support programs within a healthcare-focused company.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or possess seven years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong writing and presentation abilities.
- Solid financial and business acumen coupled with the ability to develop and support a business case.
- Demonstrated experience in working within a cross-functional, matrix organization.
- Proven track record in crafting strategic account strategies and tactics.
- Experience in negotiating contracts is essential.
- Background in previous Business Development roles is advantageous.
As part of our Total Rewards plan, we provide a competitive compensation package here at McKesson. This remuneration is influenced by various factors, such as performance, experience, skill sets, equity, periodic market evaluations, and geographical considerations. In addition to the base salary, other forms of compensation, like annual bonuses or long-term incentives, may also be included.
