Create and maintain the following strategies: Children's Program Strategy, Youth Program Strategy and a Volunteer Engagement and Retention Strategy.


  • Design and implement programs with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) outcomes.
  • Develop curriculum from current best practice, guide and support program delivery strategies and provide support to internal and external partners in all areas of social programming.
  • Build and maintain internal and external partnerships for the benefit of Recreation and Social Programs.
  • Consult and advise partners in building capacity for community programming.
  • Provide project leadership and planning on projects and initiatives that support internal and external partners to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Coordinate seasonal programming. Work with external partners to efficiently use resources available in the community.
  • Research, analyze and develop the overall plan for seasonal program locations.
  • Provide onsite program support by facilitating programs, providing training and otherwise ensuring program success.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a Human Services related field and at least 3 years of related experience, working with children and youth programming, and an understanding of curriculum/program design and implementation.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending.
  • The use of a personal vehicle is required for work.
  • An intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) is required.
  • An understanding of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is considered an asset.
  • Experience developing curriculum and programs within a social services field is considered an asset.
  • You will exercise confidentiality, discretion, and demonstrate organizational and personal sensitivity.
