20 Ton Tandem Dump and Tag Truck Driver in the Amherst area.

This is a full-time seasonal position with an estimated hours 50 plus per week.

Qualifications & Skills_
-
MUST have a valid Class 1 Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement and the ability to drive standard transmission trucks.

MUST have a clean drivers abstract.
-
MUST have 2 years experience operating a tandem dump truck.

  • Tractor trailer float and/or tandem tag trailer experience would be considered an asset.
  • Condition 15 endorsement would be considered an asset.
  • Must have a strong industry knowledge of proper loading and securement techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to safety.
  • Availability to work flexible and extended hours if required.
  • Capable of performing physically demanding work at times.
  • Heavy equipment operating experience would be considered an asset.
  • Valid First Aid, CPR, and WHMIS would be an asset.

Duties & Responsibilities_

  • Conduct and document daily pretrip, inroute, and post trip inspections.
  • Promptly report any mechanical issues to direct supervisor and/or mechanic for repair.
  • Complete all required paperwork drivers logbook, inspection, trip, and maintenance reports.
  • Always operate the truck in safe, secure, and responsible manner.
  • Keep truck and associated equipment, clean and in good working order.
  • Weekly greasing and washing of truck is required.
  • Preform routine preventative maintenance as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
