The Need


After almost 25 years of continued growth and operational success in pioneering the work of protecting those who are experiencing poverty from violence, IJM globally has become a $100+ million organization.

IJM wants to continue this trajectory of growth and scaling of its impact, with the Vision to protect 500 million people by the year 2030.


To contribute to this growth, IJM Canada is adding a Regional Lead, Content Marketing role to support the creation and implementation of content strategy and content marketing needs, and internally equipping stakeholders to tell IJM's best stories for IJM Canada in alignment with the North American regional and Canadian national strategies.


This role will contribute to improved content engagement (especially digital), effective content planning across Canadian supporter audiences, and an increase in qualified leads.

In managing and executing overall content needs for the region, you will equip frontline teams to be able to effectively engage with and raise funds from their audiences, with the goal to help end slavery in our lifetime.

The ideal person will be a creative marketing professional, preferably with a writing background. You should be able to develop engaging content to attract and retain donors. For this position, it's also essential to be up-to-date with new technologies and marketing best practices. Ultimately, you should be able to expand IJM's digital footprint and brand awareness.

Compensation range:
$65,000 to $75,000 CAD/year

  • This position will office in the Greater Toronto area or may work remotely in Canada and reports to the Regional Director, Marketing

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in the development of a content strategy for IJM Canada that aligns with IJMC fundraising goals and brand needs, working in collaboration with the IJMC Integrated Marketing and Fundraising Lead, the Regional Director, Marketing and Regional Sr. Lead, Content Strategy;
  • Ensure content development and delivery for campaigns for the Canadian market to raise brand awareness and thought leadership including mobilizing creatives to create content, and directly developing content;
  • Work as an integration point between the North American Regional Marketing team and the IJM Canada team to incorporate regional campaigns into the IJMC content strategy; and
  • Create and manage digital content, including the timely publishing and sunsetting of audience relevant content to IJM Canada's website.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant field;
  • 5+ years' experience within a marketing, fundraising and/or digital capacity;
  • Editorial mindset with an ability to predict audience preferences;
  • Experience with basic copywriting and/or graphic design considered an asset;
  • Project management skills and attention to details; and
  • Expertise in social media platforms and content planning for multiple stakeholders.
