What you'll do
***Reporting to the Executive Director, Professional Practice, the Policy Analyst is accountable for identifying and analyzing health systems issues, obtaining policy information from a variety of sources and consulting with a range of stakeholders to support the implementation of a policy management process inclusive of development and implementation, policy recommendations and an overall policy framework for Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). Provides support to policy authors in response to emerging health system trends. Leverages change management skills to enable best practices, policy improvement and systems integration. Key partnerships are with managers and directors throughout the health authority, as well as other members of the Professional Practice and Risk Management Team as well as well colleagues in other health authorities across the Province.
What you bring
Qualifications:
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in Public Policy/Administration, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience in public administration, planning, or program development in healthcare or social services.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
- Supports team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
- Works collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act
