Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the accurate processing and recording of the company's payroll information. The position reports directly to the HR and Payroll Manager.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Direct Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process weekly and biweekly payroll for salaried, hourly, and union employees.
  • Enter employee information, salaries, weekly approved timesheets, garnishments, and all other payroll source deductions in ADP payroll system correctly and accurately.
  • Enroll and terminate employee benefit information in ADP and other benefits providers.
  • Ensure charges, deductions, additions, and adjustments have proper authorization and adhere to company policies including compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
  • Prepare payroll journal entries for approval and upload them into the ERP system.
  • Maintain employee payroll records such as TD1, ROE, timesheets, elections pertaining to CPP, DPSP, benefits and others.
  • Reconcile and remit WSIB and union dues on time.
  • Reconcile and analyze all payroll related general ledger accounts to the balances in ADP.
  • Reconcile and file WSIB and EHT payments annually.
  • Review and reconcile the annual T4 and T4 summary.
  • Compile and complete annual automobile taxable benefits calculation as part of T4 taxable benefits
  • Enter employee departure information in ADP and calculate last pay, severance, vacation payout and ROE.
  • Create new payroll company, WSIB account, Union account, EHT account for every new project.
  • Assists in the identification and implementation of payroll process improvements.
  • Lead the migration of data from ADP to new payroll and HCM system.
  • Maintain proper filing of payroll related documents.
  • Complete T2200 E (12) Declaration of Conditions of Employment when required.
  • Perform other payroll and personnel related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Summary of professional qualifications and key competencies:

  • Post-Secondary diploma
  • Payroll designation preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 2+ years of Payroll and Human Resources related work experience
  • Newstar and ADP Workforce Now experience is an asset.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines and easily adapt to changing situations in a fastpaced environment.

Salary:
$60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Markham, ON L3R 1G9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
