We are currently seeking a:

Talent Acquisition Specialist - Permanent Full Time


In this role you will be responsible for on-boarding of new staff and Service Providers including recruitment, selection, and orientation.

You will contribute to human resources department initiatives to support VHA's goals and objectives.

Reporting to the HR Supervisor, Talent Acquisition, you will work closely with the HR team and key stakeholders, and will role model VHA's organizational values.


KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND BEHAVIOURS REQUIRED:

  • Degree and/or certificate in Human Resources.
  • Minimum 2 years of Human Resources experience in sourcing, recruitment and selection.
  • Active participation in the Human Resources Professional Association development program preferred.
  • Experience in HR administration.
  • Experience doing contract renewals is a big asset
  • Experience in the nonforprofit or charity industry is preferred
  • Excellent interviewing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problemsolve.
  • Experience in HR analytics is an asset.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with employment legislation.
  • Experience in a unionized environment and knowledge of labour relations an asset.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in identifying unique methods for recruiting and selecting.
  • Good organizational, administrative and selfmanagement abilities.
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in mail merges using Excel and Word is preferred
  • Ability to participate and work as a flexible team member.
  • Ability to integrate the use of technology to streamline work activities.
  • Demonstrated efforts to continuously develop and upgrade skills.


Founded in 1925, VHA is a not-for-profit, charitable organization made up of over 3,000 diverse professionals - nurses, personal support workers, rehab therapists, home support workers, extreme cleaners, and office support staff.

Together, we provide high quality care, with great heart, to vulnerable populations in the communities we serve.

This includes seniors, families, new parents, newborn babies, people with physical and mental disabilities, children with medically complex needs, and the terminally ill.

We provide service 24 hours a day, seven days a week to clients in their homes, in schools, in retirement homes and other locations in the community.

To protect the health and safety of our employees, clients and their families and in the interest to follow strong public health measures, it is a requirement of employment at VHA Home Healthcare to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
