About the Opportunity


The Customized Employment Counsellor is responsible for building lasting relationships with local employers and developing and structuring relevant and meaningful options based on the needs and preferences of the client.

This role works collaboratively with the WorkBC Client Services Team and Solutions Employment Services to support clients towards a successful job attachment outcome.

As a full-time
Customized Employment Counsellor, you will be actively supporting individuals with developmental disabilities obtain employment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting clients with resume building and distribution,
  • Marketing our services and building relationships with potential employers to support employment,
  • Developing personal networks and social capital by attending community events,
  • Facilitating onthejob coaching and relaying feedback from employers,
  • Obtaining knowledge of Community Resources required to facilitate opportunities,
  • Submitting proposals and creative problem solving, and
  • Administrative tasks including maintaining records.
The typical hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (35 hours per week). This role requires flexibility including early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on program and client needs.
