Employment Counsellor

We are seeking an experienced Employment Counsellor to join our team at the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC. As an Employment Counsellor, you will work with clients to identify their career goals and develop a plan to achieve them.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and client outcomes
- Interview clients to obtain employment history, educational background, and career goals
- Assess problems and identify barriers to employment
- Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs
- Administer and interpret tests to determine client interests, aptitudes, and abilities
- Collect labour market information and provide clients with job openings, entry and skill requirements, and other occupational information
- Provide established workers with information and strategies for dealing with job dissatisfaction, making mid-career changes, and adjusting to workplace transitions
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
- 1 to less than 7 months of experience
- First Aid Certificate
- Valid driver's licence
- Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, large caseload, attention to detail, large workload
