About WildCard Games: WildCard Games is a vibrant game development studio located in Montreal. We are looking for a skilled technical leader with innovative ideas and a strong drive to bring them to life.

Role Overview: At WildCard Games, as the Game Development Lead, you will have a key role in steering the creation of gaming experiences. You will oversee a team of talented Unity developers and collaborate closely with various teams, including artists, designers, and engineers, to craft engaging gameplay, impressive visual effects, and smooth player interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead the design and implementation of Unity games, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Architect and maintain scalable, modular, and effective code for current and future projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive development process improvements.
  • Perform code reviews and offer constructive feedback to uphold code quality and standards.

Team Collaboration:

  • Guide and mentor a team of Unity developers, promoting a collaborative and inventive work atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with other leads, producers, and designers to grasp project needs and contribute to the game's overall vision.
  • Work with product and game designers to create and implement efficient features within project timelines.
  • Ensure smooth integration between client and backend components in coordination with technical stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with QA to identify and resolve bugs, ensuring high product quality.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders to provide project updates and discuss technical solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as a mobile Unity developer with a minimum of 5 years in the field and involvement in delivering two complete games.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or lead developer position.
  • Solid knowledge of Unity3D, C#, and object-oriented programming.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging abilities.
  • Experience with performance and optimization tools.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like perforce.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience in multiplayer game development.
  • Knowledge of shader programming.
