Dynacare is looking for Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join our Histology team in Ottawa, Ontario. This is a permanent full time position, working Monday - Friday, 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all samples are properly labeled and identified before testing
  • Follows established protocol(s) for the handling of unsuitable samples
  • Operates and troubleshoots complex instruments following department procedures
  • Performs processing of samples in a timely manner as per departmental guidelines
  • Ensures that all abnormal, critical and STATS are processed as outlined in the department guidelines. May be required to followup on missing samples
  • Ensures all quality control checks and standards are maintained
  • Ensures all client inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Must have:

  • Completion of secondaryschool level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program
  • OSMT certification
  • Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to selfmanage, prioritize and collaborate in a teamoriented, high volume, timesensitive environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of AS400 Data Entry system/LIS
  • Experience in Histology.
