Director, IT Services position at Sheridan College

The Director, IT Services plays a key role in overseeing the IT Service Management domain at Sheridan College. Collaborating with IT and academic/business leaders, this role focuses on developing and implementing an IT service strategy to support the college community. Responsibilities include managing the IT Service Desk, ensuring quality service, and overseeing IT components for interactive spaces. The Director fosters an environment of service excellence and effective IT solutions.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing leadership for IT Service Management, ensuring industry standards and best practices are followed.
  • Developing strategic roadmaps and processes to support Sheridan's community and goals.
  • Managing IT services lifecycle and overseeing Request for Proposals processes.
  • Developing standards for end-user technology and supporting curriculum development.
  • Leading project management and IT Services initiatives across Sheridan.
  • Managing budgets, promoting team planning, and enhancing IT partnerships.
  • Developing communication strategies and knowledge management processes.

About You

The ideal candidate has diverse student and staff interaction skills and a commitment to equity and inclusion. They possess a deep understanding of Information Technology Service Management and excellent communication abilities. Strong leadership, time management, and organizational skills are required.

Qualifications
  • 4-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • 9 years of progressive IT experience.
  • ITIL intermediate certification and PMP certification desired.
  • In-depth knowledge in industry best practices, end-user computing, systems architecture, and more.
  • High-level negotiating skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.
