Vaccine Verification - As a condition of employment you are required to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated or provide proof of valid exemption satisfactory to the employer prior to your start date. You must acknowledge and agree to comply with any future vaccine policy requirements as an ongoing condition of employment at the City of Hamilton.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Reports to Manager, Vaccine Program. Provides vaccine courier service for clinic site locations.

GENERAL DUTIES
Delivery of clinic supplies for COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics to clinic site locations.

Pack and sort supplies for clinics.

Deliver clinic supplies, by vehicle or walking, to and from clinic locations and other locations as required.

Drive vehicle; load and unload packages.

Circle check of vehicles for safety and preventative maintenance issues.

Perform other duties as assigned which are directly related to the major responsibilities of the job.


Work in accordance with the provisions of applicable Health and Safety legislation and all City of Hamilton corporate and departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience as a courier driver in relation to duties listed above, normally acquired through a combination of education or related work experience.
  • Have the ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions for the operation of simple equipment or the completion of routine office functions such as filing; write and convey messages.
  • Must hold a Class "G" Driver's Licence valid in the Province of Ontario.
  • Must be physically fit and able to walk between the various locations for package pick up and drop off.
  • Must be available to perform position duties outside normal working hours as required.
  • Must have a pleasant, courteous manner and relate well to others.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must provide a clean driving record certificate.
  • This is a newly created position. The salary grade assigned to this position may be reevaluated within nine months of the filling of this position._
