**Responsabilités principales des mécaniciens**:

- Effectuer de légères réparations mécaniques, p. ex. des réparations exigeant moins de 30 minutes.
- Effectuer de lourdes réparations mécaniques, p. ex. les transmissions, les moteurs, etc.

**Qualifications mínimales des mécaniciens**:

- Avoir ses propres outils à main.

**Milieu de travail**:
Ce travail implique des risques modérés ou des risques de malaises qui nécessitent des mesures de sécurité spéciales, p. ex. travailler en présence de pièces en mouvement, de machines, d'émanations ou de produits chimiques irritants. On pourra donc exiger le port de vêtements ou d'équipement de protection individuelle comme des masques, des lunettes, des gants ou des écrans faciaux.

**Exigences physiques**:
Ce travail requiert des actions comportant de l'effort physique comme rester sur place autant à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur pendant de longues périodes de temps, parcourir des espaces ainsi que se repositionner pour atteindre et utiliser des outils. Il faut aussi pouvoir déplacer un minimum de 23 kg (50 lb) avec ou sans aide.

**Mechanic Primary Responsibilities**:

- Perform light mechanical repairs, e.g. repairs requiring under 30 minutes
- Perform heavy mechanical repairs, e.g. transmissions, engines, etc.

**Mechanic Minimum Qualifications**:

- Must have own hand tools
- Mechanically inclined
- Driver's license

**Work Environment**:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

**Physical Demands**:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods both indoors and outdoors of remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.

**About Us**:
Since 1945, U-Haul has been serving do-it-yourself movers and their households. Like many other successful ventures, the concept for U-Haul was generated out of need. After World War II, there existed the widespread need for do-it-yourself moving equipment that would be available on a one-way, nationwide basis.

U-Haul co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, recognized that need and acted upon it.
