Shared Health spearheads the planning and oversees the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. Additionally, the organization provides certain province-wide health services and facilitates centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
In partnership with MHNP team members, the Home Nutrition Support Nurse offers nursing expertise for the MHNP. The incumbent's responsibilities include assessing, planning, and evaluating the nutritional care of patients referred to the MHNP.
The Home Nutrition Support Nurse serves as a valuable resource to various healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, dietitians, social workers, physicians, and nurses in hospital or community settings.
The incumbent, collaborating with the MHNP team, also plays a key role in educating patients, families, other healthcare professionals, and community groups.
Contributes to setting standards, developing policies and procedures, and evaluating the MHNP for both children and adults.
Experience
- Three years recent experience in acute care nursing required.
- Demonstrated expertise in parenteral and enteral nutrition required.
- Pediatric and community experience can be beneficial.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program required.
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
- Active involvement in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) is advantageous.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position align with the WRHA policy.
- Driver's license and access to motor vehicle.

- Good physical and mental health.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding teaching and organizational skills.
- Capability to work independently and uphold professional standards.
