Nurse Practitioner

At Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality nursing services to our patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Responsibilities:- Provide independent nursing services to designated patients, including administration of prescribed medical treatments and collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Participate in the coordination of patient care and discharge, ensuring a smooth transition for our patients.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing care for individual patients or groups of patients.
- Delegate care appropriately and monitor outcomes of delegated care, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
- Respond to a variety of simultaneous demands, adapting quickly to changing situations.
- One year of acute clinical care experience within the last 3 years, with a satisfactory employment record.
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program, with successful completion of the MB Nephrology Nursing Course or Dialysis Training recognized by the Centre.
- Certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration, with active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements in accordance with the Employer policy.
- Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prioritize care for individual patients or groups of patients.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of the healthcare team, with a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/facility/unit.
