Job Description:

:

  • Responsible for configuring and maintaining the critical systems that are used to provision devices and services used in the customer premises.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for provisioning of Customer Premise Equipment(CPEs) such as gateways, ONUs, routers, firewalls, and enterprise Wi-Fi access points
  • Responsible for managing the provisioning infrastructure software, configuration, performance, and reliability
  • Responsible to configure, manage, and support enterprise router configuration, provide MOPs for changes when required
  • Responsible for the Auto Configuration Server (ACS) to onboard new consumer CPEs to our network faster than our competitors
  • Keeps track of network technology, hardware and software revisions changes making sure that operational processes are updated and changes are communicated to the technical operations team
  • Maintain and extend our lab environments to match production as closely as possible
  • Provide feedback to Technical Advisor to ensure new products consider provisioning and configuration aspects
  • Liaise with Technical Advisors and Architects to support the endtoend solutions
  • Encourage and demonstrate lean approaches, curiosity, continual learning, and empathy towards others
  • Know about production issues before our customers and continually drive to reduce timetoisolate and timetoresolve issues
  • Use appropriate escalation as required to remove roadblocks
  • Provide input to post mortem activities related to outages
  • Instill a sense of ownership with focus on quality, collaboration, and delivery which constantly demonstrating improvements in self, team, tools
  • Provide coaching to team members, by developing training material when needed
  • Make sure bugs and issues are prioritized by the Product Owners
  • Proactively manage vendors to deliver parts / all of a solution
  • Remain handson and be able and willing to perform any task we would ask a team member to do
  • Take all necessary measures to ensure their health and safety at work and that of employees under their responsibility, while seeking the protection of the general public. Make sure employees under their responsibility comply with all Health & Safety instructions, guidelines, policies and procedures
  • To support Cogeco's ultimate goal of providing excellent service to current and potential customers, incumbent must be constantly attentive and responsive to both external and internal customers' needs and assist in resolution of any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner while ensuring that solution meets the customer's needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • ACADEMIC TRAINING
  • Postsecondary education in Software, Networking, or Engineering, or a combination of relevant education and work experience requiredWORK EXPERIENCE 8+ years of experience working with enterprise grade CPEs and working with large vendors 5 years of handson experience working with Wi-Fi, Internet, and telecommunications technologies
  • Expertise and indepth experience with networking technologies including IP, NAT, IPv6, routing, DHCP, DNSSPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
  • Strong understanding of Internet, IP networking, wired and wireless networking standards and protocols
  • Shell Scripting experience required
  • Experience with Ansible, JavaScript, Groovy, and Jira beneficial
  • Experience with DOCSIS and PON including provisioning
  • Junos, Junos Space, and Cisco iOS experience
  • Experience with Cisco Prime Cable Provisioning(PCP) beneficial
  • Experience in a Service Provider extremely beneficial
  • Excellent data interpretation skills (Log, XML, JSON)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Love of data analytics and problem solving
  • Passion for providing amazing customer support
  • Demonstrated use of Lean methods, Continuous Improvement, and Learning throughout career
  • Kanban methodology and Scrum experience beneficial
  • Genuinely positive attitude and a keen interest to continually learn, experiment, and improve self and others
  • Selfmotivated with the ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving problems independentlyPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND VISUAL ACUITY
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs required
  • On call support and off hours maintenance tasks required
