Summary of Duties:
Under the Direction of the Manager, Corporate Records, the Intern will assist in various organization, classification, and inventory of the City's archival records, including handling records and artifacts in varying physical conditions.
Work Performed:
- Sort and classify a vast array of different historical items and art pieces.
- Update inventory of archival items and corporate art.
- Create proper storage for archival items and corporate art.
- Access condition of archival items and determine action plans for cleaning and maintaining damaged items.
- Conduct research regarding ideal storage and preservation methods.
- Assist in creating a mandate and acquisition policy for the corporate archives.
- Assist in creating a needs report and business plan for establishing and running a corporate archive.
Qualifications:
- Completion or working towards a degree or Diploma in Library Science, History, Art/Art History, or other relevant studies.

Experience:
- Experience in archival conservation an asset
- Interest in archives, preservation and/or local History
Compensation & Other Information:
$21.78/hour
This posting is for one (1) temporary, full-time up to 15 weeks position.
Current hours of Work:
Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
