Foremost has an immediate opening for a
Materials Coordinator, located at our facility in
Calgary, Alberta.

This role will be Responsible for monitoring the Bill of Materials, Work Orders, supporting engineering, production, supply chain and technical service for Foremost's Calgary location.


Responsibilities:

  • Review and update inventory levels as required to ensure accuracy and completeness in the ERP system through regular cycle counts.
  • Work closely with Production supervision to ensure materials are readily available to meet critical and noncritical deadlines.
  • Drive inventory reduction by implementing strategies to reduce excess inventory and optimize stock levels.
  • Address and resolve any material issues or discrepancies related to work orders in the system.
  • Collaborate with production and purchasing departments to manage shortages of material effectively or provide acceptable substitution options.
  • Identify process bottlenecks or inefficiencies and work with relevant teams to implement process improvements that enhance overall productivity.
  • Conduct regular analysis of inventory levels, usage patterns and trends to identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
  • Act as a point of contact for crossfunctional communication between Production departments and Purchasing/Engineering, ensuring alignment and understanding of materialrelated requirements.
  • Ensure yard/storage areas are clean and well organized.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a steel fabrication/ industrial manufacturing environment required.
  • Strong Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively work as part of a team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to multi task is a must.
  • Comfortable working within tight deadlines and under pressure to meet organizational goals.
  • Previous supervisory experience considered an asset.
  • Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or Yard Equipment Supervisor would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Able to interpret Material requirements from Engineered CAD drawings.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Position will require outdoor activities (and indoor as needed). Approximately 80/20 split the majority being outdoors and on the shop floor.
  • Safety training considered an asset but will train as required.
