Unit Summary

Perioperative Services at Hamilton Health Sciences includes the Juravinski, Hamilton General, McMaster and West Lincoln sites, providing Interventional Radiology services, Endoscopy services, pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care for both adults and children.

Position Summary

The Clinical Manager for the Hamilton General OR is responsible for the activities according to the Accountability Statement for Clinical Managers. Specific responsibilities include:

• managing the day-to-day issues related to staffing and care delivery

• facilitating the development of leadership skills in staff

• mentorship and oversight of Clinical Leaders

• facilitating the development of the interdisciplinary care team which is integral to the Program;

• facilitating an environment which supports creativity and innovation in the delivery of patient care services;

• promoting an environment which supports clinical excellence, continuous learning and measurement and evaluation;

• ongoing development and monitoring of budget utilization and unit-specific data in order to measure and evaluate the quality of care within the Program, and inform fiscally responsible decision making.

In a manner consistent with the vison, values, and strategic goals of the Hamilton Health Sciences, the Clinical Manager fosters an environment where people are engaged, enabled, and motivated to provide patient centered care. The Clinical Manager engineers processes that ensures continued quality improvement, optimizes future positioning and translates unit, program and corporate objectives to their respective unit areas.

Schedule Work Hours

Monday - Friday: Days

Qualifications Baccalaureate Degree in one of the Health Disciplines
2. Masters Degree preferred
3. Recent relevant clinical Perioperative experience
4. Clinical management (2 years) experience, preferred in a perioperative setting
5. Demonstrated leadership and management skills
6. Evidence of commitment to continuous education through pursuit of graduate studies or comparable educational endeavours
7. Demonstrated excellence in communication, team-building and the ability to initiate and model positive change
8. Membership in the relevant Professional College/Association
