About Covenant House Vancouver:

Since 1997, Covenant House Vancouver has provided relentless support for youth experiencing, or at-risk of experiencing, homelessness.

We provide support to young people age 16 to 24 who have experienced a wide range of early life and ongoing, complex trauma; including physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect.

Our purpose is to serve all youth, with absolute respect and unconditional love, to help youth experiencing homelessness, and provide a safe and supportive environment for all youth in need.


The Impact the Manager, Executive Operations can make:

Reporting to and working closely with the CEO, the Manager, Executive Operations oversees operations in the Executive Office and is responsible for providing complex, high-level strategic and administrative support to the CEO.

Acts as the main point of contact with the Board of Directors and works closely with the Senior Management Team.

The Manager plays a pivotal role in aiding the CEO by anticipating needs to provide proactive support to increase the CEO's efficiency, preparing research and briefing notes, drafting correspondence, managing key relationships, and ensuring priorities and timelines are on track.


How you will contribute:

  • Work with the CEO to set and manage complex and rapidlychanging daily, weekly and longerterm strategic priorities
  • Manage Board relations: liaise with current and prospective board members by preparing all logistics for Board of Director meetings, Board committee meetings and Board recruitment, and ensuring all Board documentation and followup is completed in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Prepare briefing notes and conduct research to ensure that the CEO has all information for meetings, conferences, and to aid in decisionmaking
  • Accompany CEO to key internal and external meetings, provide collateral, and handle followup activity and delegation as required
  • Provide a bridge for smooth communication between CEO, internal departments, Board of Directors, and partners
  • Supervise Executive office staff and manage departmental budget

Who are we looking for?

Education and Experience:

  • At least 5 years' experience supporting a Clevel executive
  • Business degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors, external partners, and other Clevel executives
  • Experience supervising others

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong business judgment and ability to change direction as circumstances demand
  • Ability to think ahead and anticipate needs proactively
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Project management knowledge and skills
  • A high level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Motivated, passionate with a highly professional work ethic and presentation
  • Alignment with Covenant House values and principles

Other:

This role will work onsite up to 5 days a week, and some flex in hours to (evenings / weekends) and travel may be required
