How would you like to join a Mid-size, National, and Innovative Law Firm seeking an
IT Support Specialist?


In this role, you will assist the firm with day-to-day end-user support of hardware and software issues, as well as server up-keep and management.

You will be responding to urgent requests, to mitigate risk and reduce technical issues.

You will maintain high service levels for both employees and independent contractors of Caravel Law, and champion innovation and change within the firm.


What will YOU be doing?

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems by coordinating and prioritizing requests, as well as working with our Technical Support Vendor.
  • Managing the Techify relationship, including all our licenses, and data privacy/security partners.
  • Provide timely responses, appropriate followup and documentation.
  • Provide detailed documentation of computer systems, procedures, and policies.
  • Assist with onboarding of new employees and contractors, including set up and configuration of user accounts and software.
  • Provide support with backup and restore procedures.
  • Assist in conducting remediation activities to mitigate cybersecurity risk.
  • Provide support with maintaining cloud infrastructure systems and Office 365 services.
  • Assist with overall network and server management as required.
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies, research, and evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements including cost saving measures.
  • Assisting with the selection and implementation of new software, such as a legal practice management system.
  • Help evaluate and improve IT policies and procedures to ensure firm compliance.
  • Participate in projectbased work as required and Managing ISO 27001 certification project.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What Will YOU bring?

  • College diploma/University degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working in a corporate or professional services environment is an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge in managing Office 365, multidomain environments, backups, and network maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problemsolving skills.
  • Highly organized, including the ability to reprioritize workload, adapt to changing circumstances and strong time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a professional and courteous manner.
  • Effective communicator with both technical and nontechnical staff, in verbal and written form.
  • Highly motivated, selfstarter that takes initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and understand when to escalate issues.


This role will be a hybrid role, working 2-3 days per week or more as required in the office (downtown Toronto).
