ISL's Structural Bridges Team is experienced in taking major bridge projects from conception to construction. We are passionate about developing our people and letting them chart their own career path. A Little About You

  • Your experience leading a small team of drafting technologist
  • An understanding of design and construction of structures
  • Your experiences with Revit and 3D software

Your resume should show us:

  • Experience managing a team of Structural technologist
  • Experience in structural engineering projects within transportation infrastructure: bridges, retaining walls, projects experience preferred
  • A thorough understanding of the production drawings related of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and structural steel
  • Knowledge of construction practices in civil/structural projects
  • Proficiency in Revit, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency with Rhino, Dynamo, Inventor, Infraworks, BIM, and Python
  • Familiarity with codes, standards, and specifications associated with Alberta Transportation projects

A Little More About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 2-3 technologists and oversee work and provide quality controls on drawings.
  • Work alongside a team of Engineers.
  • Prepare designs and estimates from general instructions and/or preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics
  • Recommend modifications and changes for design improvement and simplification, and prepare working drawings from conceptual layouts to detailed finished products
  • Project coordination:
    • prepare/assemble project deliverables,
    • d evelop designs/layouts,
    • manage multiple responsibilities in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Completion of drawings with 3D models
  • Leverage your effective communication, interpersonal and analytical skills to collaborate and coordinate with other ISL disciplines to meet multi-discipline and client needs
  • Apply a practical approach to work – balance requirements and the numbers to ensure that projects meet the needs of our clients
  • Mentor and cross train staff as well as make recommendations for efficiencies
