Key Responsibilities- Client Meetings and Project Management: Attend client meetings to obtain and present project information, ensuring seamless communication throughout the project.
- Investigation and Condition Assessments: Conduct thorough investigations and condition assessments of existing buildings and parking structures to identify deterioration and develop a comprehensive understanding of the structural system.
- Material Investigation and Recommendations: Investigate deteriorating reinforced concrete, structural steel, waterproofing, and expansion joint materials, and provide written recommendations for necessary repairs.
- Field Training and Review: Assist with field training and review of field work completed by junior team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Report Writing and Documentation: Write detailed reports based on observations, assessments, and key findings, including Condition Assessment Reports.
- Design and Restoration Detail Drawings: Prepare structural designs and restoration detail drawings, specifications, and tender documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Contract Administration: Coordinate contract administration, including bid review letters, proposed change notices, change orders, invoice review letters, and contract administration during construction.
- Mentorship and Team Collaboration: Mentor junior team members in technical and contract administration roles, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Project Cost Monitoring: Monitor internal project costs and review monthly invoicing, ensuring timely and accurate financial management.
- Professional Engineer License: Hold a Professional Engineer license in the Province of Alberta with a minimum of 7-10 years of structural restoration project experience.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Demonstrate the ability to lead small to medium-sized structural/building restoration projects from investigation to design and contract administration, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Business Development and Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong client relationships, assist with business development initiatives, and have a strong working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction.
- Technical Expertise and Adaptability: Possess a strong working knowledge of construction materials and products used in building construction, with a focus on concrete repair and restoration, corrosion protection, traffic toppings, expansion joints, and waterproofing systems, and be able to adapt to new technologies and methods.
- Valid Driver's License: Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
