Office Environment:

The Edmonton office fosters a lively and engaging atmosphere, offering numerous opportunities for career advancement. Our projects encompass a wide range of scales, from modest commercial ventures to substantial industrial, governmental, community, and private sector developments.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on tasks and smaller projects under the mentorship of a Senior Engineer.
  • Engage in the assessment, recommendation, and specification of engineered systems or products, ensuring adherence to relevant codes and engineering standards.
  • Utilize structural modeling software to perform analyses.
  • Coordinate with architectural, interior design, and other engineering teams under the supervision of a senior engineer/designer.
  • Conduct fieldwork as directed by senior engineering staff.
  • Execute fundamental calculations to analyze and design individual building components using standard and proprietary software.
  • Support engineering tasks on projects of varying complexity.
  • Assist in data collection and information gathering to inform design choices.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by senior engineering personnel.

Qualifications:

Proficient understanding and experience with structural finite element design software such as ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, RISA, and STAAD is essential. Familiarity with Revit and Bluebeam is highly advantageous.

Ability to collaborate effectively within a project team and engage in both creative and analytical thinking is crucial.

A comprehensive grasp of structural engineering principles and the capability to communicate concepts clearly to colleagues is required.

Proficiency in interpreting sketches, drawings, building programs, and similar documentation is necessary.

Competence in Microsoft Office Suite is expected.

Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a flexible approach to work assignments are essential.

A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering and EIT designation is required.

This role typically involves working in an office setting with computers, requiring prolonged periods of sitting. Fieldwork may involve exposure to various weather conditions.
