Reporting to the Senior Manager, you are responsible for the requirements gathering, including workshops with business clients, process teams and other related support teams, the liaison between business and the development teams, the creation of test plan, test strategy, manual testing and automation testing. An active collaborator on the Agile project team, you are responsible for driving the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) from the beginning to the completion of the projects, also you will follow up with the troubleshooting of any production issues reported and fix if required, any further enhancements and ensure working products are delivered with quality.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Conducts and adjusts testing methods and practices to assess and evolve product
- Design test approach, Develop Test Strategies and Plans.
- In conjunction with the development team, collaborate, design and build automated and manual tests, develop/create test data, construct and execute exploratory, system, regression, migration, back end, and user acceptance tests, and determine whether to create any complex environments or any major improvements for the automation frameworks.
- Write clear and concise defect reports and work as an empathetic advocate for the customer's quality experience.
- Conduct exploratory testing to find bugs that other testing means would not find during every sprint and drive testing workshops.
- Wherever possible, conduct functional test and ensure their readability (clear, succinct, and using common business jargon) as well as tests must be maintainable (built with reusable domain specific testing language components)
- Working knowledge in Automation frameworks, developing, designing and executing test automation scripts (Selenium, API Tools (Postman), testNG, any one of behavior driven development (BDD) or Test driven development (TDD frameworks like Karate and Cucumber)
- Thorough experience with data extraction, transformations and conversion testing
- Ability to produce dashboards and reports for sprints or code releases.
- Analyze industry best practices to recommend improvements to methodology, test environments and workflow to promote an efficient and cost effective UAT process.
- Collaborate actively with the development team, Product Owners, B/As
- Embed with development teams and infuse quality in every phase of the software development lifecycle by providing continuous feedback from QA standpoint regarding standards, user experience, possible performance issues, and future bugs.
- Participate in product design and requirements analysis, work with the team during project planning to accurately estimate work (data creation, test cases/acceptance test design, test execution, automation framework design/improvements, scripting tasks, setup environments, etc) and scope release deliverables (prioritizing defects and bugs).
- Lead end user focused testing activities and inform how product needs to be evolved
- Create and execute acceptance criteria based on requirements, assessing usefulness of test cases and adjusting approach where required
- Troubleshoot when problems arise and contribute to their resolution in a hands on manner when necessary.
- Associate degree or B.
- Test automation experience with 3+ years of hands on experience.
- Experience in analyzing the testing scope and developing work estimates.
- Experience in creating Test Strategies/Test Plans.
- QA analyst with minimum 2+ years of testing activities
- API specific testing Experience with 2+ years of hands on experience
- UI/Database/Batch testing experience
- Experience working in Cloud applications.
- Experience working with both Agile methodology and Waterfall SDLC
- Good Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence
- Good understanding of UAT standards and methodologies
- Experience writing test documentation such as Test Plans, scripts and test results reports.
- Ability to analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve testing automation standards
- Strong communication skills – explain things clearly to members of the lab and conduct stand ups
- Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills, using creativity and attention to detail to develop testing solutions that help proactively uncover issues, find bugs and assess product with the end user in mind.
- Strategic thinking ability enabling the selection of optimal testing solutions (smart vs mass testing)
- The individual requires good oral and written communication skills and proven ability to: represent testing status/issues/make presentations to varied groups; deal with all levels of line management; and conveying clear and compelling project artifacts.
