Science North's Organizational Development Unit is currently seeking an Organizational Development Specialist to help lead and champion our Learning and Development.


Position highlights:

Reporting to the Director, Organizational Development you will
- provide leadership for delivering the organization's Learning and Development strategies for all Science North leaders/managers and staff
- support a culture of continuous learning throughout the organization by establishing effective internal partnerships, implementing best practice approaches, and developing user friendly, practical learning systems, approaches and tools
- lead the development and facilitation of training and professional development opportunities either directly or in partnership with internal/external resources
- collaborate with senior management to identify and address development needs/gaps for staff necessary to meet legislative compliance, drive development of cohesive teams and increase performance
- act in a consultative capacity to assist in coaching managers and supervisors on specific challenges and team building
- work with the Organizational Development leadership to develop learning systems which effectively harness and enable learning across the organization
- research and recommend management and professional training programs that focus on enabling the workforce to achieve and sustain continuous improvement
- ensure all aspects of Science North's Learning and Development strategy incorporate and strengthen our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
- lead and oversee the day-to-day delivery of the organization's orientation/onboarding program for all new staff, recommends enhancements
- supports Organizational Development team members with the performance management and succession planning strategies

Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary degree/diploma in a related field along with 24 years of Human Resources Learning/Training facilitation experience is required
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and delivering training and employee development programs required
  • Experience supporting HR programming such as orientation, performance management and succession planning an asset
