Job Description

Brief Overview:

The CCM Procurement Coordinator will report to the Procurement Manager and support the project management and estimating team. They will be accountable for assisting in the development of procurement documents and cost procedures during the procurement phase and will be a dedicated resource between project management and the estimating team.

Responsibilities:

Procurement

  • Attends team meetings, owner/architect meetings, and budget reviews.
  • Assist with the development of procurement documents, including plans and specifications.
  • Assist with putting together Request for Proposals (RFP), tender documents, construction contracts and scopes of work.
  • Liaisons with Procurement Manager, Project Management team, Field Team, Estimating and Subcontractors for all project administrative matters.
  • Maintains the internal electronic document filing.
  • Participates in the turnover of new projects from Estimating to Operations.
  • Assists with the development of the project budget and verifies the budget to provide best information to measure and track the progress of the work, identifies opportunities and liabilities in the Project budget.
  • Assists the timely buyout of subcontractor work packages and major suppliers for projects as assigned, develops and confirms work package scopes for the subcontractors.
  • Participates to identify areas of success and areas of opportunity from a Procurement Department perspective.

Estimating

  • Prepares and coordinates quantity take-offs with supervision.
  • Communicates with sub-trades and suppliers to ensure understanding of scope of work.
  • Prepare sub-trade tender packages.
  • Communicates with sub-trades for understanding of scope of work.
  • Ability to check and verify one's own quantities using estimating software.
Qualifications

Required:

  • College and/or University degree
  • 2 – 5 years industry experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in estimating
  • Basic understanding of construction methodology, including development, contracting, and consulting
  • Familiarity with Procore
  • Basic understanding of general contract vs. construction management forms.
  • Working knowledge of estimating software
  • Knowledge of the Provincial Lien act.
  • Basic understanding of standard contract conditions.
  • Understanding of construction methodology.
  • Understanding construction management forms.
  • Understanding of the Procurement Process for trades and suppliers.
  • Understanding in cost planning.
  • Technology savvy
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Takes initiative and is resourceful.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Customer service focused (internally & externally).
