WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Operating with an Employer of choice mindset, the Payroll & Benefits Specialist plays a key role in retaining talent.

Reporting to the Lead, Payroll & Benefits, the Payroll & Benefits Specialist provides a range of integrated pay and benefits services for all Psycho Bunny employees (retail and corporate) across Canada and USA, all with an attention to detail to accuracy in order to enhance the employee experience.


HOW WILL YOU DO IT?

  • Responsible for processing full cycle payroll in a timely and accurate manner, across Canada and US while auditing payroll processing reports for accuracy
  • Ensure proper payment of deposits, tracking of paid time off, special payments, employment termination payout, etc.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans.
  • Produce and validate various biweekly, monthly and annual reports
  • Review payroll register and reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll accounting journal entries
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Process amounts ordered to be withheld through a garnishment, third party demand or support deduction order, when required
  • Maintains and ensures accuracy of payroll database and processes all necessary corrections
  • Year end reconciliations, tax slips, and filing government forms

WHO YOU ARE

This is what youve accomplished

  • Postsecondary education in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience 5 years experience in Canadian payroll
  • Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) designation is considered an asset

  • Familiar with Canadian labor laws, and willing to learn US labor laws
  • Adept with Google Workspace, and Excel
  • Sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Excellent judgment and decisionmaking skills

  • Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)
