About the Position:


As an Associate, Marketing, Communications & Engagement (Real Estate Development), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of Hazelview's purpose-built rental projects.

You will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive community engagement and marketing strategies that align with our brand values, foster positive relationships with stakeholders, and drive results.

There may also be opportunity to champion and support Hazelview's corporate social responsibility programs with an ethical, environmentally conscious, and community-minded approach.


Key Responsibilities:

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • In collaboration with Partner, Marketing & Social Impact, develop and execute communication and stakeholder engagement plans to build strong relationships with residents, businesses, and community organizations impacted by Hazelview real estate development projects.
  • Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and meetings to gather feedback, address concerns, and promote a positive project image.
  • Collaborate with local influencers and organizations to enhance project visibility and community integration.
  • Provide daytoday project management and oversight of project teams, consultants and contractors involved in developing and implementing communications and community engagement strategies.
  • Design, organize, implement, facilitate, and manage communication and community engagement programs that are catered to each development project.
  • Cocreate the development of models, tools, and templates to be implemented in the delivery of robust engagement with stakeholders, community, and tenants through the announcement of acquisition, construction and/or redevelopment of housing opportunities.
  • Establish standards and best practices for communications and engagement with communities.
  • Encourage and ensure meaningful participation of diverse individuals and groups are represented throughout the consultation process and beyond.
  • Summarize key recommendations and support with respect to public engagement, public affairs, community relations, stakeholder identification, stakeholder relations, thought leadership, and community communications.
  • Proactively identify and assess a wide range of sensitive, emerging, and highprofile issues through liaison with management team and local partners.
  • Facilitate community input, address concerns, and integrate sustainable practices into urban plans to create resilient, inclusive, and environmentally conscious communities.

Marketing:

  • Project manage and implement innovative marketing strategies and partnerships (tied to community engagement efforts) to drive brand awareness, interest, and leaseup potential of purposebuilt rental developments.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling advertising and promotional materials tailored to the target audience.
  • Provide copywriting and graphic design in execution of advertising and marketing collateral ensuring brand consistency and effectiveness.
  • Project manage new development projects including timebound workplans and coordination of internal crossfunctional teams.
  • Assist in analyzing marketing data and research (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and demographic changes to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Conduct regular surveys and analysis to gauge community sentiment and adjust engagement and marketing strategies as needed.
  • Prepare and remit expenses in an accurate and timely manner (e.g., marketing expenses, purchase orders, budget workflow, etc.)
  • Prepare, review, and/or edit applicable documents (e.g. Request for Proposal, Brochures, PPT presentations) & proofread applicable documents as required
