Department Overview

  • The Corporate Transformation and Operations (CTO) group is made up of six functions and was established to develop a strategy and model to build the capabilities, systems and processes required for bestinclass operations and other enabling capabilities across Corporate. The Corporate Delivery function provides project delivery services to include Finance, Risk, HR, Marketing, Compliance, Legal, Global Security Investigations (GSI), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Privacy, Fraud Risk Management and Enterprise Insider Risk areas. The CTO Corporate Delivery Function, in partnership with Business and Technology, manage projects to support business operations and deliver change with confidence for corporate technology and data platforms.


The Project Manager will plan, manage and deliver distinct projects through all specific phases in alignment with business and/or enterprise strategies.

This individual may manage a number of small to medium size projects at any given time with a low to medium complexity risk profile and time horizon generally ranging from short to medium term.

This individual may support projects within multiple CTO portfolios.

Your Accountabilities Include:

  • Indirectly manage a LoB project team consisting of Business Analysts, Business SMEs and technology resources (where applicable) under the 1PM project & resource management framework or Next Evolution of Work (NEW) in future; Manages the project team, stakeholders and key project deliverables
  • Engage executive sponsor to ensure active participation on project initiatives
  • Engage appropriate stakeholders to identify and manage required outcomes of projects for the business
  • Establish effective project oversight and other governance bodies, and engage the correct levels to support the direction for the project
  • Provide ongoing communication to key stakeholders, including the Project Sponsor, Business Project Owner, Program Manager and Portfolio Manager to ensure they are aware of significant changes to the project status in a timely manner
  • Respond to inquiries and escalate concerns from stakeholders at all levels in the organization (technical, business, Senior and Executive Management)
  • Provide advice and guidance to business partners and project team as required regarding best practices in project management
  • Collaborate with appropriate partners to ensure required resources are assigned to the project for successful delivery
  • Executes project management deliverables within budget and as per the approved project plan, working with business partners to develop the content of those deliverables
  • Develops, monitors and tracks project plans throughout project lifecycle
  • Monitors project health continuously and engages management as required if project health changes
  • Monitors and controls the work related to each deliverable
  • Deliver and own project outcomes that are aligned to established cost, timing, deliverable and scope objectives
  • Generate cost estimates and provides general financial management, incorporating risk, by leveraging appropriate tools, templates,
  • Proactively identify and track project risk, project issues and develop mitigation plans to manage risk and issues
  • Champions project governance and processes
  • Owns the accurate reporting of status, risks and project financials (i.e., data quality) in the bank's enterprise reporting system
  • Accurately forecast and manage assigned budget to provide monthly financial reporting for projects in alignment with Finance standards
  • Provides project reporting, including technology spend, and adhoc analysis and presents issues requiring attention by senior management. Escalates issues, as required
  • Identifies discrepancies between financial forecasts and actuals and escalates material discrepancies and adjusts scope, schedule or budget as appropriate
  • Manages resource and capacity management process for assigned projects for all project resources, external contractors / consultants and coordination of competing priorities
  • Ensure the project spending approval policy is followed
  • Support vendor management and strategic sourcing process, managing RFP activities and partnering with vendor(s) to ensure efficient and effective project delivery

Job Requirements

  • 34 years progressive projectrelated experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of project management
  • Exposure to financial management with respect to tracking, forecasting and managing project budgets
  • Team player with ability to influence and achieve results through effective negotiation, problem solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education / Accreditation:

  • University degree or comparable professional education/training
  • PMP certification or equivalent preferred
