Working Student

Help with daily chores, grooming, tacking and riding. Riding will be supervised and instruction available. Riders will advance their riding skills and horsemanship.Opportunity to learn about breeding, shadowing all aspects (ultrasound, insemination, semen storage and handling), foaling and young horse managment. Be part of a team environment, we all work together and help each other. Learn skills such as starting horses and preparing for competition. Opportunity to compete available as well.
We would like our working students to commit to at least 2 months, as there is a big training commitment on our part.
Applicants are required to be competent around horses and competent riders. A willingness to learn and a good team member. We are a family run farm and work very closely with our working students who are welcomed as part of our family.

A private room in our home. Meals are included and access to the kitchen at all times. We do have some dogs as pets, and cats that live in the barn. If cooking is an interest, you are welcome to help with meal preparation. And to help with the vegetable gardens. Laundry available.

Rider with have the unique privilege of working daily with a Grand Prix rider and access to horses in various levels of training. We will ensure that you see Niagara Falls (1.5 hour away) and also arrange a trip to see Toronto as well. Inclusion in family trips and opportunity to experience local culture. We have a large vegetable garden, swimming close by, lake and pool, lots of BBQs in the summer weather. At shows we have our own camper trailer for those who wish to stay on the show grounds.
