Job Summary

The Wellington Catholic District School Board is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational programs and services to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with classroom teachers to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum-based activities for kindergarten students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to support individual students' identified needs, strengths, interests, and stages of development.
  • Observe, monitor, and assess the development of kindergarten students.
  • Participate in staff meetings, school-level meetings, and professional development activities to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Requirements
  • Hold a two-year community college Early Childhood Education Diploma.
  • Proof of registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Knowledge of the Ministry of Education's full-day early learning program.
  • Experience planning and implementing age-appropriate programs.
  • Basic computer skills and strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with others.
  • Knowledge of related legislation and working knowledge of WCDSB policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate knowledge of classroom management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the early learning kindergarten program.
  • Basic food handling procedures.
