As part of the Trillium project based in Ottawa, we are seeking a qualified Signaling and Train Control Coordinator to join our growing team.


How will you contribute to the team?

  • Oversee and validate the onsite/field testing and commissioning activities
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors given the competing priorities for safety, space, and access
  • Ensure the subcontractors produce quality work that is installed and commissioned as per the design documentation
  • Ensure the subcontractors fulfils their obligations as specified in their contract
  • Ensure the works are performed in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Manage site safety for construction including site inductions, work area delineation and material handling, LOTO
  • Ensure works are performed safely with approved JHA, WMS and onsite safety procedures
  • Assist the Vehicle Integration Manager and System Integration team to deliver the works
  • Responsible to coordinate and manage S&TCS works and external interfaces with rolling stock and communication systems
  • Prepare field reports, meeting minutes and tracking sheets for all S&TCS works
  • Review all documentation submitted by subcontractors and ensure that it is consistent with applicable design and procedures
  • Travel to different project sites to manage and track the subcontractor's progress
  • Responsible to communicate and provide clear directions to subcontractor's based on the design and field experience.

What will you contribute / requirements?

  • Hold a degree or diploma in Electromechanical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering and seven or more years of experience with Rail Systems
  • Experience with working with Subcontractors and onsite/field coordination with third parties
  • Knowledge and experience in installation and commissioning of Signalling and Train Control systems is required
  • Previous experience interacting with design groups, familiar with RFI's, engineering change notices, and site instructions
  • Experience in using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) creating work schedules, and various other engineering software(s) such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, SolidWorks
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong, selfmotivated, work ethic
  • Ability to make decisions in the field based on sound judgment and experience
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and including different shifts as required
  • Must be able to qualify for CROR and other safety training(s) related to construction and rail operation environment.
