Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join our Optical Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the design and development of next-generation high-speed optical communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and analyze digital algorithms for high-speed optical communication systems.
- Work closely with the Modem Signal Processing Team to implement digital algorithms in Ciena products.
- Analyze complex questions in optical physics, communications theory, probability, control theory, and high-speed algorithms.
- Develop innovative solutions that can be implemented in CMOS.
- Model in MATLAB and document results.
- Review and communicate designs and solutions with the wider development team.
- Support development and testing at 800 Gb/s and beyond in the lab.
- Learn new mathematical areas and share expertise with lab teams.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Math, Physics, or Engineering with a focus on optical physics and quantum electronics, signal processing, communications, statistics, and control theory.
- Strong experience with MATLAB and C, C++, Python programming languages.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
