Intern, Research, Policy & Gift Acceptance

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE (Role Overview)**:

  • You will play a critical role by researching, interviewing and developing options to inform recommendations to update Save the Children's gift acceptance policy and processes ensuring alignment with our mission and ambition to grow revenue through private philanthropy.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Conduct global and national research on gift acceptance policies, processes and best practices
  • Conduct interviews with key stakeholders from teams including but not limited to resource development, finance, operations, and relevant members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
  • Supported by the research and interview findings, develop options to inform recommendations to update Save the Children's Gift Acceptance Policy and processes
  • Draft updates to Save the Children's Gift Acceptance Policy

Qualifications include (but are not limited to):

  • Post-secondary education in the areas of Research, Policy, Fundraising and/or related equivalent experience
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Ability to work in a team and/or independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

REQUIREMENTS
This role is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program.

This is an initiative of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, which aims to provide flexible and holistic services to help youth in Canada develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market.

Eligibility Criteria:

- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

Note:
International students are not eligible for this program.

  • This position will be paid $16.55 per hour.
  • Home based internet connection required.
  • Will be required to work at our Toronto office, time to time, with reasonable notice.
