RESPONSABILITIES

  • Manage and provide leadership, coaching and development to the accounting team ;
  • Implement, document, and monitor internal controls as necessary ;
  • Formalization and procedure writing ;
  • Proactively improve the accounting and automation process, including formalizing and documenting procedures ;
  • Oversee month end closing accounting activities and account reconciliations ;
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all financial accounting ;
  • Develop and manage the monthly close calendars ;
  • Appraise and update accounting policies as per ASPE standards ;
  • Assist with various yearend audit & tax packages ;
  • Coordinate and assist with various government filings ;
  • Cultivate a deep business partner relationship across the organization, including but not limited to finance and strategy, accounting, legal, tax, SEC reporting, treasury, and operations and all relevant stakeholder of the company ;
  • Partner with FP&A resources to ensure accounting is in line with management reporting ;
  • Assisting in the Company's evaluation of technical accounting matters, including those related to complex transactions, emerging areas, and adoption of new accounting standards ;

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Minimum of five years experience, experience working with the BIG 4 is a plus ;
  • CPA ;
  • Strong MS Excel skills. SAGE, OneStream, and SQL would be an asset ;
  • Detail oriented, selfmotivated and organized with good understanding and ability to document financial and operational controls ;
  • Wellgrounded knowledge and comprehensive understanding of financial accounting according to ASPE ;
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and strive well in a fastpaced work environment ;
  • Experience with foreign currencies and multinational companies strongly preferred ;
  • Fluently bilingual in English and French is a requirement.
