SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Housekeeping Supervisor reports to the Housekeeping Manager.

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive rooms for hotel guests.


The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for conducting ongoing quality control inspections to maintain a high standard of cleanliness, while tracking and correcting the performance of the housekeeping staff.

The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures the highest level of cleaning standards by monitoring inventory and the condition of furnishings, fixtures, appliances and dishware, and takes corrective action by addressing quality deficiencies and reporting maintenance and safety issues in a timely manner.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train housekeeping staff to ensure highquality cleaning and guest satisfaction.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and staff work areas to ensure standards are met and to identify any issues that need attention.
  • Schedule and assign daily cleaning duties to staff and ensure proper allocation of resources.
  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies and equipment and order as necessary.
  • Respond to guest complaints and resolve any housekeepingrelated issues.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of housekeeping standards and procedures.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on departmental operations and performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the seamless operation of the hotel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager/General Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in hotel housekeeping, with 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with hotel operations and guest service standards.
  • Ability to lead a team and motivate staff to meet performance expectations.
  • Comfortable with Hotel programs such as HMS and computer programs such as excel.
  • Position entails bending, crouching, working on the knees, standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs. The Housekeeping Supervisor must also be able to move quickly and function effectively in a fastpaced environment.
