TalentWorld is recruiting a Tax Compliance Analyst in Calgary, Alberta for one of our clients.
Responsibilities
Ensure accurate and timely filing of indirect tax returns in compliance with federal, provincial, and territorial regulations.
Develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with tax laws.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and provide recommendations.
Identify and mitigate potential tax risks through regular audits and controls.
Assist with tax audits by providing documentation and support to tax authorities.
Collaborate with internal departments to align on tax matters and provide training as needed.
Continuously improve tax processes and systems for efficiency and compliance.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of tax filings and correspondence.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree:
bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.

Experience in Canadian Tax, at least 5+ years of experience in Canadian tax compliance and planning, with a focus on indirect taxes such as GST/HST, PST, and QST.

CPA, CA (Chartered Accountant) designation preferred.
Proficiency in Canadian tax laws and regulations, with a strong understanding of indirect tax principles and compliance requirements.
Experience with tax software and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
Familiarity with tax data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
Experience with tax audit support and resolution, including liaising with tax authorities and resolving disputes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research complex tax issues and provide recommendations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance in tax reporting and documentation.
