What You Will Do


Reporting the Director of Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion (the Director), with a thorough understanding of issues related to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB), the Manager for Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion Education and Training, is responsible for the development and implementation of Humber's human rights and EDI education and training programs, human rights related policies, and initiatives to advance the College's EDI priorities to the full breadth of students, staff and faculty.

Through capacity building, engagement, partnership, and consultation, the incumbent will lead educational initiatives to integrate and foster anti-racism, equity and belonging principles and practices across all aspects of the College in alignment with the organization's mission, vision and values.

The Manager, Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion Education and Training will be responsible for three (3) key areas:

Education and Training

  • Develops and facilitates human rights related education as one of the key mechanisms to prevent, interrupt and correct harassment and discrimination

Humber's compliance with the _Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act_
(_AODA_
)

  • Manage the administration of the _AODA_ requirements: committee, policies, standards, reports and timelines

Support the implementation of the Institutional Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Framework & Strategy

  • Provide support to the College and Director of Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion in the implementation of the Institutional EDI Framework & Strategy

Major Duties

Education & Training

  • Conduct traumainformed human rights related virtual and inperson education and training
  • Revise and launch online training modules for the following: Human Rights related policies, Sexual Assault and Sexual Violence policy and procedures, _AODA_, Implicit and Explicit Bias in Hiring Processes, Employment Equity, and other modules as required
  • Skilled in the development and facilitation of antiracism education and practice with a focus on antiBlack Racism, antiIndigenous Racism, antiAsian Racism, and antiSouth Asian Racism
  • Develop a suite of online antiracism education and training alongside fostering accountability for employees to advance their skills and measure the progress of individual employees, faculties and departments.
  • Mobilize all employees to selfidentify their antiracism and equity education gaps that need urgent attention and implement training programs to support greater equity and inclusion in daytoday activities.
  • Analyze and revise current education and training programs, policies, practices, and services to remove unintended barriers and maximize opportunities for the success of the full range of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Develop and facilitate training sessions on eradicating common types of interpersonal aggressions including racial microaggressions that Indigenous peoples, Black/African people and members of equitydeserving groups experience on campus and in the virtual environment.
  • Interrupt racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia in the moment and engage in teachable moments.
  • Use an equity and inclusion approach to analyze and use data to shift the current organizational culture, climate, and services.
  • Share a compelling vision for greater equity and inclusion in throughout the College.
  • Effectively engage employee resistance to infuse equity and inclusion in daily practices, policy and decision making.
  • Navigate and model how to respond to challenging and triggering conversations.
  • Ensure participants' attendance and training completion statistics is maintained and updated.
  • Develop annual reports and other communications as needed to support the Centre's initiatives.
